A Qatari court has pronounced the death penalty for eight former Indian Navy personnel, and this development has been officially confirmed by the Indian Ministry of External Affairs.
Notably, these former Indian Navy officials were incarcerated last year on charges related to espionage in favor of Israel against Qatar. Indian intelligence agencies have been continuously involved in supporting these individuals.
These spies from the Indian Navy were engaged in a sensitive project at Dahra Global Technologies, focused on the construction of small submarines. The group of Indian naval spies includes Captain Navtej Singh Gill, Birendra Kumar Verma, Saurabh Vasisht, Commander Amit Nagpal, Purnendu Tiwari, Sugunakar Pakala, Sanjeev Gupta, and Sailor Rajesh.
The global community has long been concerned about India’s espionage networks. Notably, a serving Indian Naval Officer, Kulbhushan Jadhav, was apprehended while actively promoting terrorism in Pakistan, shedding light on India’s offshore clandestine activities.
India’s covert operatives affiliated with their intelligence agencies have been caught carrying out targeted assassinations of Sikh leaders in various countries, including Canada and Britain.
The recent death sentences passed by Qatar will undoubtedly pose challenges for India in maintaining amicable diplomatic relations worldwide. This situation calls for international attention and scrutiny of India’s concerning and illicit tactics.
