If the government can create clear regulations for social media sites, it has hinted that it would remove the ban on X, which was once known as Twitter.
The government is not against social media, but it does want to make sure it is controlled, according to Information Minister Azma Bokhari’s statement on Friday.
In response to claims of electoral meddling, the authorities blacklisted X in February.
The government has previously claimed that the prohibition on X was required to safeguard national security. Azma Bokhari pointed out that rules controlling social media sites are in place in many other nations. According to her, social media profiles are subject to international regulations.
Regarding the imprisoned PTI founder, Ms. Bokhari said that Imran Khan is experiencing mental hardship while incarcerated. He is unsure of himself; he says Mohsin Naqvi speaks for the army, but he also suggests the army designate a representative for negotiations with the PTI.
She went on to say Imran Khan need to first offer an apology for what happened on May 9. He must accept responsibility for their behavior and own up to his error.
